Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Park

The Atomic Bomb Dome stands as a powerful symbol of Hiroshima. Preserved in the same state as it was after the bombing, this historic structure reminds visitors of the past while inspiring hope for a peaceful future.

From across Japan and around the world, countless paper cranes are sent as heartfelt prayers for peace. These vibrant symbols of hope are placed at various memorials within Peace Park.

This statue honors Sadako Sasaki, whose story gave rise to the tradition of folding paper cranes as a wish for peace. Her legacy continues to inspire people to connect through compassion and hope.

Through personal artifacts and haunting photographs, the museum offers account of the events of August 6, 1945.
